All Tarot readings are sacred, all tarot readings are magical. This is my philosophy

Have you ever had an experience of a full body yes? Of being in a moment where you felt your heart soften and your spirit rejoice? A time and space, where you knew that exactly in this moment, you were doing what you were meant too?
You were with those people, at that place, in that community, doing that project that made you feel like you belong - that made you feel home

Many of us have experienced small glimpses of this feeling.

For me, the first time I felt this sensation with my entire body, my entire being, was dancing. I was a young teenager, attending my first contemporary dance class, not quite sure what I was getting myself into. My teenage hormones were making me a little shy and self conscious, but the minute the class started, I was swept away in awe for the ways that this kind of dance made me feel in my body and heart.

As we grow older, following that inner knowing, what we might refer to as our intuition, often becomes harder. Sometimes so hard that we are not even sure what our intuition, our gut feeling, is actually trying to tell us.

Many of us are told, directly or indirectly, that if we want to survive and make a living in this world, we have to follow the logical and rational way. We have to follow a path that is laid out for us early on. What much of our overculture often “forgets” to mention however, is that life is inherently unpredictable and non-linear. We can have as many plans, ideas, and structures of how our life should play out, but in the end, we just don’t know. Life works in mysterious ways, which might both be our biggest blessing and our hardest lesson.

The tarot, among many things, helps us to surrender to that mystery. It gently guides us to the places where we might soften a bit, where we might put our efforts down, and ushers us to the path of least resistance, to the path of our heart.  The beautiful thing about working with the tarot is that it does note, unlike much of society, judge us for where we are, but rather encourages us to celebrate each small step on our way. And most importantly, find ways to enjoy and nurture our process, rather than exhausting ourselves with trying to rush through it.

The work that we get to do through tarot sessions is exploring the balance between passion and stability. Is finding ways to reconnect with that creative spark, with our full body yes’, AND learn how we can honor our pace, our boundaries, and needs along the way.

What can often end up happening when we don’t honour both our need for stability/safety and the desire of our soul, is a tendency to “get stuck” on either end of the spectrum. Often leading to burn out, confusion, numbness, depression, perfectionism, lack of meaning etc.

The tarot is an excellent tool to help us hold all of the nuances and complexity of our reality.

…But what exactly is Tarot and how does it work?

At it’s core, the tarot helps us to return to a safe, sovereign, and abundantly creative space inside ourselves.
Tarot is an ancient divination and self reflection tool used through hundreds of years around the globe. Some people read tarot for the future, I mostly utilise it to “take the temperature” on the present moment. In tarot readings, we reach into past experiences and future dreams, while still being grounded in our current reality.

The tarot is build up by different ancient archetypes, that visually, emotionally, and spiritually can speak to us in different ways than what verbal language can offer. As a trauma-informed, anti-capitalist reader, I work towards weaving old symbolism with a contemporary understanding of identity, lived experience, and healing. Sometimes a tarot reading brings joy, creative inspiration, and relief. Sometimes they can open a door into parts of ourselves that feels scary and overwhelming to deal with. I strive to deliver any messages and reflections with gentleness and compassion.

My approach to tarot has been formed and shaped through years of practice, studying, and deepening my relationsship with the craft and to my own intuitive gifts. I always strive to set a container that feels safe, tender, and empowering.

We are all our own healers, and at the end of the day, we know what is best for ourselves. Although a tarot reading can bring guidance and reflections, it is up to you to decide how to integrate this information.
