Thoughts on uncertainty and living through heartbreaking times

I’ve been doing a lot of reflections these past months on the process of  change and transformation (halo pluto in Aquarius).

Specifically the way that our brain and nervous system reacts to change, and the somatic processes that unfold collectively as we continue to move through unknown terrain.

One thing that I’ve really noticed for myself over these past years, is how much my nervous system is constantly adapting and how I’m continually growing new neural pathways through these processes.

And feeling just how much brain capacity and regulation that takes, and how that is very energy demanding.

Healing through our body

As a somatic practitioner, I spent a lot of time thinking, reading, and talking about brains & bodies.

I think about the structures that we are shaped in and live through, and how those structures plant themselves in the way that we interact with- and carry our bodies through our lifetime. How so much of “traditional” therapy focuses on understanding the why’s and intellectualising our emotions and our experiences.

There’s lots of different benefits to be found in this approach, and/but delving into neuroscience and trauma recovery, really shows us how vast and complex our brains are.

It shows us the importance of imagination, of creativity, and tapping into our dreamlike spaces.

Unlearning shame and redefining self worth workshop

There are days when I wake up feeling scattered and disconnected to myself. There’s a sense of irritation mixed with stress that ties a knot in my stomach, and what frustrates me the most, is that I can’t point to or locate the cause of this experience.

When I stumbled upon the phrase internalised capitalism a few years ago, something started to click within me, and a framework that could hold the vastness of this experience started to build around me.

This is why I am so excited about my upcoming workshop: unlearning shame and redefining self-worth in late stage capitalism.

Tears of regeneration

Tears of regeneration

There are tears that burst through us, like a river waiting to reach the ocean. Tears we cry for the grief our body has held and witnessed. There are tears that drip through our eyes from our deepest fears finally having space to be seen and held. And then there are tears that softly hydrates our skin, when we begin to release that something deep within us have changed. That whatever hardship, whatever pain or suffering we’ve undergone is finally over - our time of rebirth.

Choosing rest with the 4 of swords

The 4 of swords is a card that let us know, that our brain and mind in some ways are at capacity, that we are needing to process all the stimuli and information that has moved through us, rather than continuing to add more input, responsibility, and tasks to be done.

On navigating chaos

Many of us see chaos as something that is inherently toxic, harmful, and problematic. For many of us, understandably so… Our view on- and relationsship with chaos has been formed from painful and traumatic events and upbringings. Our idea of chaos has been formed through moments and periods of life, were the consequences of chaos often meant a sense of abandonment, loneliness, and overwhelm.

How can we learn to reshape our experience and association with chaos?

The art of being

What would it be like to shift our perception from “doing” bodies, to “being” bodies? To slowly shift our orientation from the pressure and expectation of the outside World, to the whispers and longings of our heart?
