Morning somatic shake and movement
Bi-weekly Wednesdays

Nurturing our inner waters yoga class
Somatic shaking is a form of therapeutic practice that involves intentional full-body shaking to release stored tension, emotions, and/or energy from our brains and bodies. This practice aims to activate our bodies natural and instinctual response to residual fight and flight (sympathetic) nervous system activation, meaning that it physiological sends a signal to our brains that we are out of danger. As such, It’s long been known in trauma recovery/healing, as a tool to help restore vitality and self-integrity. In this morning class, we will combine somatic shaking into a holistic movement practice. You can expect an energizing space to connect with your body, a natural dose of endorphins and serotonin, and a well curated playlist to shake it all out to.
Through a somatic-and yin inspired approach, these classes are here to support nervous system regulation and deep restoration. My hope is to facilitate a space to connect with our inner resources, so that we may realign with our intuitive- and bodily wisdom.
The classes will be infused with lots of soft stretching, Pranayama (breathing) exercises, and lots somatic resourcing, to help you gently (re)connect with your body and heart.

Unlearning shame and redefining self worth
Public · Anyone on or off Facebook
Have you been feeling an unsupportive pressure to constantly be producing and working?
Do you have a hard time sensing- and responding to your body’s queues of exhaustion, overstimulation, and depletion?
And/or are you easily caught in spirals of shame and guilt, when you can’t live up to tasks, expectations, and goals?
If you felt seen in one or more of these questions, you are in no way alone!
All of these symptoms are a part of a larger weaving of values imposed on us by larger societal structures, we may refer to as internalised capitalism.
As psychotherapist Daniel Rich describes it: “Internalised capitalism is the adoption of the messages of capitalism as your own values or guiding principles, typically to your own detriment.” And to that, I would add, It is often “hidden” in our subconsciousness, which means that we tend to not be aware of it, even if/when it plays a big role in our everyday decision making.
